       If the idea that rightwing populism and left wing populism are equivalent had ANY credibility before, it has virtually NONE since the Jan. 6 siege.  Not only have most left cyberspatial commenters rejected this type of political equivalency, also most progressive activists consider that ANY attempt to equate or conflate the two is a  sinister ploy.

     Everyone here should know - if they don't already - that since the insurgency,  rightwing forces, particularly in the U.S. are desperately trying to divert attention from the righteous backlash to the capitol putsch AND their direct or indirect complicity and support, in several ways:

- pretend it wasn't that serious

-  describe the cause as legitimate

- equate rightwing and leftwing populism

     As I, and many others, elucidated in a previous OPED, and elsewhere, the capitol MOB represented an organized alliance of some of the most reactionary political forces in the U.S., including the most OPENLY anti-social justice/anti-socialist/anti-communist forces.

    For anyone on the left, just those elements should be a dead giveaway that the ONLY relationship we can have with these people is an ADVERSARIAL one.

     Their claim to be 'anti-establishment' is a ruse. They are not against the real establishment -  rule of capital - and you will see NOTHING from ANY of its organized forces claiming as much. At best, they are against the (neo)liberal FORM of the capitalist nation state and for making America 'great again', i.e. return to its WORST patriarchal and white nationalist practices and policies. They want 'regime change' - not system change -   primarily for the above reasons and MOST importantly: to stop the rise of the left and social transformation.

    It's a regressive, reactionary and FASCIST political tendency.

     Like Trumpinc, and other fascist tendencies, the leaders and loudest voices, on and offline, of the "left & right unite" gang seek to : 1) snare the unsuspecting, politically ignorant;  many of whom don't even understand the difference between left and right 2) turn 'legitimate' economic opposition to neoliberalism into a (not-so) new form of political economic domination. These old and new and wannabe capitalists, small, medium and large, are ALWAYS in contention with the neoliberal  rulers. Under Trumpinc, a major goal was personal, pecuniary gain and cult-like power.) 3) crush the left, once and for all; something the neoliberals have been unable to do.

     Now, (partially)  exposed, having terribly overreached, these fascists and their loyal following are trying to hide in the shadow of the left - their arch enemies! - desperately trying to avoid further infamy . .  and prosecution.

     Don't be fooled. Even though many of these backward forces are working class*, it doesn't take much investigation to find the capitalist ruling class connections behind them.History has clearly shown us, they are always there, often hidden in plain sight.

    Finally, the rightwing echo chambers reveal that, rather than quietly recede into the woodwork, these reactionary forces intend to continue their seige, locally, and nationally,  in covert and overt ways, by any means necessary.

      History has also shown us, esp. in 20th century Europe,  that fascists make several 'trial runs' before they actually  seize power,  and despite the feeble  and ostensible, 'opposition' of various neoliberal forces presently in power, they are often victorious. 

     Moreover, some left forces are prone to underestimate them. . . even after the fascists have made it 'kristallnacht' clear, for years, who their real enemies are.

NO UNITY WITH FASCISTS!!!

LEFTISTS, AND ANTIFASCISTS, OF ALL ORIENTATIONS MUST UNITE AGAINST THEM!!!
